Purpose of Expansion
The purpose for the Sin expansions in general is to add more stuff to the game through different monster sculpts with very minor changes to the overall gameplay. I’ll dig deeper into that below.
The Envy expansion adds a new deck of cards for the sin player and a new overall power on their board that gives players an interesting choice when picking up upgrade cards. Either that hero takes a wound, OR every other hero will take a corruption. It’s an interesting trade-off and a nice way to bring out the Envy theme here where those other players may seem “envious” of the player gaining an upgrade and becoming more corrupt in the process.
Also the new sculpts for the Envy demons are just phenomenal. These are by far my favorite sculpts of the entire Sin expansion line which each one having very intricate details and designs. Top notch job with these!
I REALLY love the sculpts and although I think the Envy power is thematic, I just don’t see it being used THAT often as it’s completely dependent on when players pick up upgrade cards. Also this particular sin would seemingly be stronger playing those specific missions that thrive on the corruption more so than the others.
